News and Updates

The past month have brought some changes for GWF - some good, some bittersweet.

Echo - Gotta Spendit - will be heading home to Kris sometime this next week.  Vicki Smith will be picking her up on her way home from ApHC World’s.  We’re thankful that she was willing to give Echo the empty spot in her trailer for the ride from Oklahoma to New York.

Palida and Imani - GW Champagne Palida and Kiss Me Silly - have been sold to Bob and Melynda Camp of NW Arkansas.  Melynda owned Palida’s sire and his mother years ago.  She had to sell him when their home was “eminent domained” by the local airport and they lost their acreage, but she never forgot him.  His trail went cold, but she found Palida with an internet search, came out to see her, and fell in love with both her and Imani.  As hard as it was for me to say good-bye to my companion of the past 11 years and her daughter, one of the sweetest and friendliest babies we’ve ever produced, it also felt very right that the two of them should go to this family.  It was like sending them “home” and I know that they will be loved and cared for for the rest of their lives.

Sendi and Chantez have been pulled off the sales list and will be staying at GWF as Pat and Amy’s saddle horses.  And Java and Pat will be starting her show career on the buckskin circuit.

So we’re not gone, just going off on a new and different adventure.  Thank you so much to everyone who helped us through the difficult transition of Faroh’s death and the grief of realizing that the end of his life was really the end of our dream.  We’re not healed, but we’re healing, and we’re beginning to look forward to the future instead of looking at the disappointment of the past.  We’ll never forget him, and we’re grateful for the opportunity that we had to introduce him to the world.

Those of you who loved him will appreciate the antics of his daughter Java.  She’s very like him, only in a very feminine package.  Stay tuned for her adventures.  They’re sure to bring a smile to your face.

Thanks everyone,

Pat and Kris
