Raising sane sensible sporthorses to be lifetime companions

Where Are They Now?

Salute Me Quick 1998 - 2007
On March 29, 2007, our TB mare Salute Me Quick was tragically struck by lightning and killed in her pasture.  Moon, as she was affectionately called around the farm, was a special horse with a special heart.  She made friends everywhere she went with her sweet nature and silly girlish behaviors. She never met a stranger, and everyone who ever met her loved her.    Moon had been diagnosed with a reproductive abnormality, effectively ending our hopes for her as a broodmare, but she had embarked on a new life with a local adult novice event rider and her future was to be a long, active, and happpy one.  Sadly, Creator had other plans for our redhead, and we wish her Godspeed to Rainbow Bridge where she will be waiting for all those who held her in their hearts.  She is deeply and truly missed.

Appaloosa stallion Spendthrift, Sporthorse sire, ApHC Nationals
Appaloosa sporthorse stallion “Spendthrift” went on to become a multiple reserve national ApHC hunter-in-hand champion and a top-ten year end Hunter Under Saddle horse.  Here he waits behind the scenes at the 2005 ApHC National Show for his photo opportunity.  You can see more of this fine stallion at Kinsch Show Horses.  We continue to be part of his fan club and look forward to seeing him anytime he’s out showing!  Photo by Carol Johnson, used with permission.
